Tony Blackie is Chief Executive Officer at Blackie McDonald Communication Group. Tony is responsible for the overall agency operations, new business development as well as the strategic direction of the agency’s key accounts which cover the technology, consumer and corporate sectors. He has a diploma in market research, graduate diploma in marketing and a master’s degree in business.
Tony’s background is in Journalism. He started his career at The Age newspaper in Melbourne, followed by senior editorial roles at The Sun Herald and the Australian Financial Review (Business Review Weekly) in Sydney. He was the Australian correspondent for The Observer newspaper London. In addition, Tony was the head of information at the Public Service Board in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Head Media at The Australian Broadcasting Corporation handling among other things, the corporation’s Corporate Affairs.
Tony has more than 30 years of experience and expertise, spanning across brand and marketing communications, corporate communications, media relations, digital communications, crisis and issue management as well as corporate social engagement for a wide range of clients.
