Retail digitising needs to move beyond the storefront

Technology for turning bricks-and-mortar retailers is becoming more important as they are now facing greater competition from their online counterparts. As the most important customers today are omnichannel shoppers, who are worth 30 percent more to retailers than one-channel customers, retailers will have to bring together the front of house with the back of house by developing a digitised integrated solution. Claus Jepsen, chief architect at Unit4, highlights that the best customer experience for shoppers is one that is consistent and efficient, with a streamlined back end to front of house embracing the growing omnichannel shopping trend.
